The Athlete Centre Fund has been established to provide an additional source of support for Manitoba athletes training to compete at an Olympic Games or World Championships.
All CSCM athletes are eligible to apply to the Athlete Centre Fund once a year prior to their competition date.
Next Application Deadline is April 1st, 2010
Eligibility
The Athlete Centre Fund is open to any athlete who:
- Is deemed eligible and in good standing by their appropriate National Sport Federation
- Is eligible to compete in an Olympic sport or a sport which has world championships
- Is registered with the Canadian Sport Centre Manitoba at time of application
Criteria
- Manitobans or athletes who are residing and training in Manitoba with a minimum one year residency
- Is a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant permanently residing in Canada
- Has a gross income, from all sources, in the preceding year of less than $40,000
(Any athlete who has income greater than $40,000 annually and who can demonstrate financial need may be eligible.) - Athletes who have already qualified for the Olympic Games or World Championships
- Athletes who according to their NSO, have a realistic chance to qualify for the Olympic Games or World Championships in their sport.
(This will be determined by their proximity to the Olympic Standards, world rankings and final selection process.)
